In today's video I will show you how-to edit a model you find online, I used thingiverse.com. Take that model and import it into Cinema 4D, make changes (edit the model), then exports it as an STL file to print in your 3D printer. There are many different ways to go about this, however the cool thing about volumetric modeling is that it will combine different polygons/shapes/primitives/etc into a single object while keeping it hollow with control over the amount of wall layers that are created. I am working on a follow up video now that will be available on my art channel on finishing these pieces. Adding weight to the 3D prints, priming them, painting them, adding glitter and crystals and more... link will be in this description once the video is uploaded in the next couple days.
