The Pemón Conflict began in 2018 after violent attacks on the natives by the Venezuelan military and ELN guerrillas. After the Pemon Nation formally recognized Interim President Juan Guaido's government, the Maduro regime invaded tribal lands in and around Canaima National Park to violently repress the rebellion. This is the tragic story of the Battle of Gran Sabana, including the Kumarakapay massacre.
