Perinatal Services BC is supporting the integration of Kangaroo Care into the standard of care for all preterm infants across the province.
A former patient parent of BC Women’s Hospital NICU speaks to her experience of the short and long term benefits of Kangaroo Care and togetherness with her daughter born prematurely at 29 weeks.
Kangaroo Care is the skin-to-skin holding of your baby (wearing only a diaper) against your bare chest, secured with a wrap.
Holding your baby in Kangaroo Care is one of the best things you can do to help your baby in the NICU.
