Before installing a custom ROM, ensure that the bootloader of your Galaxy S6 is unlocked. This step is often necessary, but not always, depending on the device and carrier restrictions.
Download Necessary Files:
Download the CR Droid ROM for your Galaxy S6 variant and make sure it's compatible.
Download the latest version of Odin flashing tool on your computer.
Ensure you have the correct USB drivers for your Galaxy S6 installed on your computer.
Enable Developer Options and USB Debugging:
On your Galaxy S6, go to Settings About Phone.
Tap on the Build Number multiple times until you see a message saying "You are now a developer!"
Go back to Settings, and now you'll find Developer Options.
Enable USB Debugging from Developer Options.
Boot into Download Mode:
Power off your Galaxy S6.
Press and hold the Volume Down, Home, and Power buttons simultaneously until you see a warning screen.
Press the Volume Up button to enter Download Mode.
Flashing with Odin:
Open Odin on your computer.
Connect your Galaxy S6 to your computer using a USB cable. Odin should recognize your device (you'll see a blue box in the ID:COM section).
In Odin, click on the AP or PDA button (depending on Odin version) and select the CR Droid ROM file you downloaded earlier.
Ensure that only "Auto Reboot" and "F. Reset Time" are checked in Odin.
Double-check everything, then click on the Start button to begin the flashing process.
Wait for the Process to Complete:
Odin will now flash the CR Droid ROM on your Galaxy S6. It may take a few minutes. Do not disconnect your device during this process.
Once Odin shows "Pass!" and your device automatically reboots, you can disconnect it from your computer.
Initial Setup:
Your Galaxy S6 will boot into the CR Droid ROM. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your device.
Optional: Flash Google Apps (GApps):
Some custom ROMs, including CR Droid, don't include Google Apps (GApps) by default. If you want Google services, you'll need to flash GApps separately using the same process as above but with GApps instead of the ROM.
That's it! You've successfully installed CR Droid ROM on your Galaxy S6 using Odin. Remember to regularly check for ROM updates and follow proper procedures when updating or switching ROMs.
