Join us in a panel discussion from current and former members across a number of open source non-profits, where we will cover why foundations exist, how they help stabilise and grow communities, and how you can be involved.
As communities grow and start requiring financial and legal oversight, non-profits form. These foundations help provide the stability to help a community grow, and the work required to keep them working is often underrecognised.
In this panel, we will discuss how a number of foundations help sustain and preserve open source in New Zealand, Australia, and beyond. We will also include valuable insights from current and former members of these groups, and include discussions around pathways for inclusion into these groups.
