So after a lot of people telling me Praedos was underwhelming, we took a look under the hood. No surprise, it falls under the same Tonfa meta category. Competing among the likes of Kronen Prime, Telos Boltace, and perhaps unusually, Ohma. It has the slash weight and speediness of Kronen, it has the parkour shared by Telos, and does it have the firepower a fully decked out Ohma can unleash in grouped setups?
It turns out that...Praedos has lower DPS than Kronen. Wow, who woulda though? Except it's only by about 20%. And that both weapons have such overwhelming weapons it's like using a sledge hammer against a thumbtack. To the point that they have basically identical ttk in relevant levels, and barely a gap in endurance. They are so strong that even the 0.6 Followthrough stat doesn't matter. Unless we group up enemies. But even then, killing 20 CHG's has a 1s ttk difference versus Kronen. Except when you ball up that many enemies on a big setup...now you have to spend time grouping up all the other enemies in the next spot and heading over to them. And that's where Praedos shines; with more attack speed than Kronen, more range than Kronen, and possibly equal damage depending on how you choose to mod Kronen if you want big range, but still less than Praedos.
It turns out Praedos actually has even stronger relevant Parkour buffs than Telos, for bullet jump velocity and roll velocity. And with how strong Kronen and Praedos are, even the gap created by Ohma on a grouping setup is also largely inconsequential. So we end up with a monster DPS powerhouse that is only weaker on paper, with all the utility you could ever ask for from Telos, but also heavy efficiency, and perhaps the easiest combo build of any melee in the game. The slam passive with Naramon is no joke, a single slam sends you from 0 combo to 12x multiplier 220. You literally could not ask for better outside of raw damage creep, which we already established is basically irrelevant, unless it was massively stronger in raw damage than Kronen, which would be overkill. See past the DPS and see what you've been missing with Praedos!
