F1 elitists were sure Alonso would win the second time around, and get that elusive Triple Crown he'd only share with Graham Hill. But in a bizarre showing, McLaren failed to qualify.

No steering wheel, electrical issues, car the wrong colour. Well, that's the only bit we remember, really.
