It's finally come to this. The Mighty Seer has arrived. Pope of Awesomeness. This is for you lol. But also, revisiting my beloved Tenet Spirex pistol that started it all.
DE has firmly stood their ground that Galvanized CO / Gundition Overload shall not work on AoE. It would be better just disabled on certain weapons, instead of blanket AoE. Many weapons got caught in the crossfire that carry smaller AoEs as part of their base damage, such as Mausolon, Trumna, Tombfinger, Opticor (Vandal), and our features, Tenet Spirex and Kuva Seer.
My first Spirex review was optimistic, picking up an Impact Spirex for AoE DPS purposes which separated it from it's better single-target cousin, Epitaph. Epitaph can both prime better and ST DPS better than Spirex. AoE pistols that scale well are rare, and I was banking on Galvanized CO being fixed to amplify Spirex's AoE. It would have been near 3x more damage than the original video. I was using Galvanized Shot already, which added 0 to the AoE at the time. This would have turned Spirex into one of the absolute best pistols in the game for scaling damage. But it was not so.
The solution? You should already know by now. The AoE of Seer and Spirex are 2.3m and 2.0m. They are not affected by Gun CO. They also have falloff. In contrast, we have a monstrous main shot that can inherit elements and do strong slash. So, what if we pick Gas? Gas has 6m AoE at 10 stacks. This is larger than the weapon's innate AoE. Gas' AoE also has 0 falloff, and doesn't require Primed Fulmination to be effective, freeing up another mod slot. It also actually scales off Galvanized Shot. We finally get that 3x DPS we were looking for, except it's in Gas instead of Slash. The resulting firepower is strong enough for Spirex and Seer to wreck SP. We still get AoE priming and token AoE Gas stacks in a massive overlapping area that can kill.
And what happens when you put these in the hand of Ivara? You're in for a treat. Get ready and strap yourselves in.
