How to change SharePoint site navigation menu from left side to top
The newly released Navigation Switcher for SharePoint Online allows you to move a team site's navigation menu from a left side vertical orientation to a top horizontal orientation. This can be done by a site owner via Settings - Change the look - Navigation. From there, you're able to choose horizontal instead of the default vertical. You'll also be able to further customize your menu once you've selected horizontal - you can choose a Mega menu or Cascading menu style.
