HOW TO WRITE BETTER BLOG POSTS - CONTENT MARKETING STRATEGY // Writing a blog post for business is more than writing an online diary, it’s a way for you to communicate with your potential customers and clients. Think about what your potential audience needs to read and hear from you, and create content that fits that requirement.
What would they like to know more about? What details do they need to know about your products and services? Don’t be afraid to ask them. People love being asked what content they want to hear about from you.
Consider the length of the blog post. Most people’s attention span is about 350 words, so try not to write too much. You don’t have to write War and Peace to get people’s attention.
Keep your sentences short. People like concise easy to read sentences, so you don’t need to be too fancy. People like to read as you talk.
Make sure you spell check your blog post. I suggest writing it in a Word Document so that you can easily check it over before you post it. Crucially, if something goes wrong on the internet, you’ve not wasted your time writing something (it’s super annoying when that happens!).
