Rahul Gandhi came under fire from BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi for meeting US MP Ilhan Omar, who has expressed anti-India sentiments and displayed support for ISI and the Muslim Brotherhood. Trivedi added that Gandhi was spotted with people who backed Afzal Guru, who was hanged for his part in the 2001 Parliament attack, and that Pakistan had applauded Gandhi in a UN statement. In particular, on the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, Trivedi questioned Congress's affiliation with these people, suggesting that it was improper to have ties to those who aid terrorists.
