Creative Ring light Photography: The Ultimate guide To 100% Stunning Photos.
RING LIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY SHOULDN'T BE FLAT AND BORING!! THAT ONE THING I LEARNED AFTER USING A RING LIGHT FOR SOME TIME.
A LITTLE CREATIVE TWIST IN THE LIGHT ANGLE, LIGHT DISTANCE, AND LIGHT MOTIVATION, AND MAY BE A LITTLE EDITING MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE.
LET ME EXPLAIN.
Not long ago, I bought a $15 RingLight on Amazon.
The thing was too cheap and the photos on the packaging promised Hollywood quality photos.
Let me even pull a chair close to you.
Man! I was very excited. I couldn't believe lighting had become this affordable.
Meanwhile, I am recording this close to a nursery school compound. The little children seem to be enjoying them selves outside.
Any way...
Eager to see its potential, I put it to the test when I returned home.
However, I was disappointed by the dimness of the light it emitted, and my video footage turned out a bit grainy.
Have I mentioned the flat boring look the video had?!
One would think it was footage captured in world war 1 somewhere in Moscow during winter.
I was disappointed by the quality of the videos.
I even contemplated trashing the ring light.
Like I was saying...
But, being African, I couldn't let my ka money go down the drain like that!
Shaaa!
So, I decided to embrace the challenge and explore creative possibilities with this affordable (read Cheap) , albeit dim, ring light.
I searched the internet for inspiration, and from that search,
I crafted a collection of photos that I've grown quite fond of.
Meanwhile this was quite a learning experience for me as well.
The two things i through this challenge were, that quality of a photo is determined by the angle, distance, amount and how you motivate your light.
