Select "Cross," "Check," or "Circle" in the editor, and simply click where you would like the symbol to appear.

To make the symbol larger, click the tree icon with the up arrow, or click the small tree with the down arrow to make it smaller.

To change the color, select the symbol, click the black box in the toolbar, and choose your color.
