This video gives an overview of the kinetic theory of matter from Theme B of the IB Physics SL & HL course. Using the particle model, it discusses how the microscopic and macroscopic properties of the solids, liquids and, gases can be explained. From there, it goes on to discuss changes in internal energy that occur as a substance is heated and undergoes changes of phase. Finally, the video introduces heating and cooling curves and relates their features to the energy changes taking place.
