Beef Stew Cooked in an Aussie Camp Oven - Super Easy and Cheap Camp Meal to Feed Everyone
From a recent camping trip with some mates we cooked up a beef stew in our Aussie camp oven. A real simple camp meal that can feed many, just add more ingredients. Perfect for the cooler months of the year.
We cook this in our spun steel Aussie camp oven. The full recipe and method is in our blog (link below).
Total cook time of around 2 to 2 1/2 hours but can be cooked longer for an even better result.
Ingredients that we used in this video:
Olive oil
2-3 x garlic cloves
Onion
Chuck steak - 500-1000 grams
3-6 potatoes (mix of normal and sweet potatoes)
3-4 carrots
Salt and pepper
Tomato paste - 2-3 tablespoons
Flour - 2 tablespoons
Liquid beef stock - 500mls
Wine - splash
Bay leaf
Basil
Worcestershire sauce - tablespoon or two
Water
