She explains how Thundercat (Kendrick Lamar, Flying Lotus, Suicidal Tendencies) wrote the bass line from a riff that he was warming up with in the studio. Drum loops and percussion were then added to the track, creating a simple demo that she could start to work on creating an ominous vibe with her own vocal samples.

The chords were played from her vocal harmonies stacked on top of each other. The lead vocal was based off of a combination of vocal phrases. She explains that writing with a vocal effect on while recording can give her different results of what she writes, showing that vocal production is not an after thought in her music. Based on using the original vocal phrases, she started to think of words that were using the same vowel sound that still represented the original theme of madness and greed.
