Animating Storyboards with AI and DaVinci Resolve (AI Filmmaking)
I use AI animation techniques and tools like FOMM/Thin-Plate, GFPGAN, and EBSynth to animate pre-existing storyboards for some short stories I have written. Instead of filming these short stories, I've decided instead to make short films using AI animation tools, as well as AI voice tools like Eleven Labs. AI tools are opening up doors for people every day when it comes to art, animation, and filmmaking.
I also use tools like backgroundremover, robust video matting (RVM), and whatever open-source python tools I can find on github this week. I composite everything together in DaVinci Resolve. Sometimes I film things traditionally my camera and blend them in. Sometimes I paint-over filmed things using photoshop.
The future of animation and AI is knocking at our doors. With these AI tools individuals will soon be able to produce short films or possibly even movies entirely by themselves as one is willing to put in the work. In this video, I show you the very beginning of the new AI technology when it comes to filmmaking as I take my first steps towards completing films using AI.
At the end of the video, I also touch on the current limitations of AI technology and it's use for animation and film, and how these limitations might actually breed creativity.
