We heard TP-LINK EAP225 outdoor access points don't work with some standard PoE switches. Just ordered 4 units and damaged 2 units before we can figure out the PoE issue. In the standard PoE network, the powered devices (EAP225 in this case) suppose to accept power either from data cables or spare cables. There are 4 twisted pairs of cables in the cat5e/cat6 cable. The TP-link moves half of the twisted cable to deal with passive PoE (DC24V). Now the POE switch comes with the latest standard IEEE802.3bt which will send DC48V power over all 4 twisted pairs, and half of the twisted cable was moved to handle DC24V by TP-link EAP series. The PoE++ switch will not release the power because it detects abnormal feedback from the passive POE section.
