‘Cynicism meter’ of Australian voters rising as federal election nears
RedBridge Group Director Simon Welsh discusses the “cynicism meter” of Australian voters and how it is going up as the federal election approaches.
Labor faces the risk of losing the backing of aspirational voters, especially if the party doesn't announce any substantive action on critical issues.
“Things go through this filter now of, well why did you wait?” Mr Welsh told Sky News Australia.
“Did you wait deliberately to bring it into an election because you think that would win you votes when you could’ve done something to help me put food on the table for my kids six or 12 months ago?"
