Here’s how I booked this Business Class flight for just Rs. 840!
I used the Axis Vistara Infinite Credit Card. The annual fee of Rs. 10000 + GST comes with a free domestic business class ticket and Club Vistara Gold membership (no auto-renewal, but you still get the business class ticket each year).
With CV Gold, you get 2 free upgrade vouchers. And based on your spends on the card, you can earn upto 4 free business class tickets in a year and points on your spends (6 CV points for every Rs. 200) which you can use to book future flights as well (my economy flight from Chennai to Delhi cost 7500 CV points).
There are only 2 biz award tickets allocated per flight, so you’ll have to book in advance.
To be eligible for this card, your income should be a minimum of 24L. If not, here are a few alternatives:
💳 Axis Vistara Signature Card - Joining fee is Rs. 3000 & you get a complimentary premium economy ticket and Club Vistara Silver membership.
💳 Club Vistara SBI Card Prime - Joining fee is Rs. 2999. You get a complimentary premium economy ticket and CV Silver membership.
💳 IDFC First Club Vistara - Joining fee is Rs. 4999. Complimentary premium economy ticket, CV Silver membership and one class upgrade voucher.
💳 Club Vistara IndusInd Bank Explorer - Joining fee is Rs. 40000 and renewal fee is Rs. 10000. The welcome benefits include a CV Gold Membership, business class ticket & gift vouchers worth Rs. 25000.
All of these cards also have spend-based milestone benefits.
Credit cards are only useful for travel hacking if you’re good with managing your money and pay your bills on time each month. And get cards based on your spending patterns to optimize your spends. If you plan to get any of these cards, definitely take the time to research them properly.
I’m so grateful to credit cards because a lot of my flights and hotels are booked using points and it’s made traveling a lot more affordable once you figure out the right cards to get (I use 3-4 credit cards).
