The Animals are an aggressive street-fighting gang without permanent turf. They can be commonly encountered as bouncers and bodyguards in various parts of Night City. Unknown recent events caused them to have an increased personnel in south pacifica.
Their estimated gang size ranges from 2500 to 3000 divided into small packs. Their members are known for avoiding the most common electronic implants in favor of custom-brewed body enhancements and modifications.
They use ultra-testosterone and animal supplements, including equine growth hormone, to make themselves bigger and stronger. They are skilled in various forms of martial arts and are keen to fight any duels they can. Their ferocity and toughness makes them the go-to choice for bouncers and bodyguard jobs.
Some members have body modifications to give them an animalistic look ranging from spotter or stripped skin up to bestial jaws.
Their philosophy is all about the feral and primal side of human nature. They are each on a personal quest to cross the borderline between man and animal and become themselves a new dominant human subspecies. To achieve this end, they constantly subject themselves to various brutal tests of skill. It is not uncommon for an Animal to head to head against extreme bad-ass opponents.
Internal gang relations are quite often animalistic. Disputes are often resolved through trial by combat, which is fought until one side completely submits. Animals are divided into small packs led by the biggest and strongest gang member at any given moment, called the alpha male or female.
Their notable members are Sasquatch (which we saw V fighting against in gameplay footage released last year), Valdemar “The Bully” and Marta “Abomination” ling. Those last two, still remain to be seen.
Although the Animals are mostly known for their ultraviolet raids on residential districts, they are also deep into the underground fight scene. They also have many holding on drug manufacturing plans, mostly focused at producing anabolic steroids.
A few packs are usually specialized in robbing drugstores, chemical transports and pharmaceutical companies to serve those needs.
As we could see on many occasions throughout the gameplay footage, it is not uncommon to find animals as bodyguards both for personal protection and at night clubs.
