An incredibly effective way to steam your home oven for baking bread.
I always use this method when baking large or oval loaves (batard) when I bake sourdough bread. The pan with towels creates continuous steam to blanket your baking dough, while the initial cup of ice rapidly generates steam at the beginning of the bake.
