Change google profile avatar you can use and application even Gmail because all these applications are interconnected.
Open any application like play store or Gmail
then tap the profile letter in the top right corner
Tap manage your google account
tap Personal info
tap the camera icon on your profile photo
Tap Choose photo
Now select a photo you want
Tap accept
Now on, you can see your new profile photo on every google application
