Let's talk about BookTok and marketing tips for authors
Viral BookTok videos are moving tens of thousands of copies of books. Therefore, authors should join TikTok. Right? Amirite? Or...hang on...perhaps that's a bit of inductive reasoning?
(Spoiler: yes.)
PRH definitely isn't the only publisher that's been gently encouraging its authors to jump in on the TikTok game. And hey, if you enjoy it, go for it! But the implication that this is a way authors can actually market their books and increase sales is extremely misleading. So I talked to Andrew (again) to get some actual, realistic marketing tips for authors.
