UDES 16 is a Swedish tier 9 medium tank in World of Tanks. We continue our acquaintance with ST Sweden. After mastering the new mechanics, which have been introduced to players since UDES 14 Alt 5, we will move on to researching the next tank in this branch.
At level 9, this technique becomes a more formidable opponent and, in terms of its characteristics, gradually approaches the top of the branch. What changes await us on the pre-top tank, a detailed analysis of the performance characteristics, the choice of skills and equipment, as well as how the gameplay has changed, read on.
The caliber of the gun, compared to the previous model, also remained 105 mm, but the one-time damage increased to 390 units and armor penetration to 234 mm with the basic projectile. Swedish CTs no longer stand out from the rest with their alpha strike, as they once did. The rate of fire still remains mediocre, worse only for the Centurion 7/1 and WZ-120. But in their case, this is justified by the highest armor penetration of the “British” and the highest one-time damage of the “Chinese”.
The Swedes still have the advantage of vertical guidance angles. In the normal position -5...+15°, but when the hydraulic supply is activated they become -12...+21°.
The aiming time is quite good at 2.11 seconds, and the accuracy has also increased slightly to 0.35. Taking into account the above values, UDES 16 is capable of inflicting about 2343 units of damage per minute. This is an average compared to other classmates.
The composition of the ammunition load according to the type of shells has not changed. But the flight speed of the projectiles decreased noticeably, especially on the special one (by 400 m/s). The ammunition still consists of 40 shells.
The safety factor is one of the minimum for level 9 ST - 1650 units. The nominal reservation is still cardboard:

The UDES 16 stands out for its good armor angles. The parameters of the given VLD armor vary from 253 mm to 320 mm, which significantly increases the chance of ricochet. The NLD still remains a vulnerable zone, penetration of which threatens to cause a fire.
The new turret is more armored and flat, there is a reduction of up to 250 mm in places, which sometimes at the top of the list will allow tanking to play off the terrain.
As was the case with the previous model, this vehicle is also the lightest among STs at its level, weighing 28 tons. Again stands out with its excellent power-to-weight ratio of 21.07 hp/t. and a high maximum speed of 50 km/h. It is worth noting that at level 9 the tank became more maneuverable, the chassis turning speed improved to 46 °/s.
The visibility is 390 meters, which is somehow mediocre for level 9, although it can be easily developed to the maximum value. But at the same time, most other CTs have a visibility of 10-20 meters more, which reduces the effectiveness of the “Swede” on the front line. A high communication range of 850 meters will allow you to control the situation on the battlefield.
The stealth coefficient of the UDES 16 is the best among all level 9 STs, which slightly compensates for its weak armor.
ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES

Advantages:
