I’ve really had enough of Uphold
Today, the former CEO of Uphold endorsed Vice President Harris and made political contributions to her campaign. Let me be clear, I have no problem with him supporting the presidential candidate he thinks is best for the country, his business, or whatever his reasons are—that’s his business. But as a CEO, ex-CEO, and major shareholder of a crypto company, you can’t just give away money and endorsements without getting something in return.

Crypto is growing and becoming more mainstream, but it’s still a fringe industry. This is your moment to leverage your position because they need your money desperately. You have to shake something out of both sides. Vice President Harris’s campaign has just started, and she needs to address her tax plan and other issues. Crypto won’t be her number one priority unless you make it a priority for her by demanding a clear vision for crypto regulations in this country.
The ex-CEO claims that the last time he posted something on Twitter was to support XRP during Ripple’s lawsuit. Let’s be real, Uphold continued supporting XRP because it was a business decision. Uphold’s primary customers are XRP investors, and dropping XRP would have been a disaster for them. They’re no heroes; it was a calculated move.
He also said that cryptocurrencies should be a bipartisan issue. I agree, but giving endorsements and money without securing commitments first is not the way to achieve that. Once you give them what they need, they have no reason to listen to you anymore. Instead, you should be negotiating for clear support and policies from both sides before committing any resources.
This isn’t about telling you who to vote for; it’s about making smart business moves to secure the future of the crypto industry. After the election, all your power will vanish unless you use this moment to secure support from both sides.
