Exploring My Table Top Role-Playing User Persona
Every user is different. We each have our own preferences, needs, and idiosyncrasies. In this video, we explore my persona as a table top role-player.
I act as both a game master and a player, and play mostly in-person on an actual table top. I participate as a player in one online campaign, using a combination of D&D Beyond, Discord, and Shmeppy.
Generally I'm a "pencil and paper" gamer, but I do all of my preparation and encounter running using a laptop. In a way that only a coding nerd can, I use Sublime Text editor for my preparation, encounters, session notes, spell descriptions, magic items, and monster stat blocks. We have multiple game masters in the house, so we use a locally hosted Git repository (with branches for the different users) to synchronize preparation and notes across users and computers.
I then talk about some of the features that I would value as a user and practice going through the user questionnaire created on the project wiki.
