Programming a joystick is an important concept to illustrate in the classroom as well. It illustrates the power of coding and pre-sets to make physical objects respond with a desired outcome when prompted with a "button" push. Think of its use in manufacturing today. Knowledge workers are given the power to respond to issues in production by making informed decisions based on preset buttons based on situation. These workers are impowered with presets to make decisions on the shop floor. This can apply to many operations. VEX IQ robotics helps kids understand this concept at an early age.
