Automatically capitalizing names and remove white space with HubSpot Operations Hub Format Data
In this tutorial, we'll walk through HubSpot's format data functionality and demonstrate how it can help you improve the quality of your data. We'll show you how to create a workflow that automatically capitalizes the first names of contacts in your system, and how to trim leading and trailing white spaces. This is particularly useful if you have a lot of people filling out forms on your website, and the data they provide is not always perfect.
HubSpot's operations hub format data functionality offers several default options to choose from, including changing all characters to lowercase, changing small uppercase, and converting to Unix timestamp. We'll focus on trimming leading and trailing white space and capitalizing the first letter.
We'll also briefly mention the custom mode, which allows you to do something a little more custom without getting into custom code. We'll leave that for a separate video.
We'll show you how to output a string and copy the formatted data to another property or value. We'll enroll existing contacts, and after the workflow has run, we'll refresh the contacts and see the results.
