The Mopar B-body spindle size changed between 1972 and 1973, but the newer spindles will still work on a pre-1972. This means the inner wheel bearings, seals, rotors, calipers, and brake lines are all different between the two generations. My car was a 1972 Plymouth Satellite and had been swapped to 1973+ spindles. This video provides an overview of the differences to hopefully help others sort out the issue before buying two stacks of parts.

Couple notes regarding the video. I show how the inner wheel bearing slides on to the spindle, but I didn’t push the 1973+ bearing all the way to the end and I should have. It really does slide to the very end of the spindle. I also didn’t talk about the difference in calipers and hoses, but both of these were different in 1973+ as well, so if you have the modern big spindles, you will also need to use the matching calipers and hoses (which have different fittings). Finally, when installing the new hoses on new calipers, I determined there needs to be 2 copper washers between these two surfaces in order to create a seal. One washer between the caliper and hose simple wasn’t enough on either side of the car. Of course, in either case, there needs to be the copper washer between the hose and the head of the banjo bolt as well.
