Why are hummingbirds so SMALL?
This video is about the natural history of hummingbirds. I give lots of cool facts, and I specifically explore the reasons why they are so small and have evolved and adapted such a specialized fast paced lifestyle. All of the information in this video was taken from the book "The Thing With Feathers" written by Noah Strycker. Hopefully you will never look at hummingbirds the same way after viewing this video.
It should be noted that the Bee Hummingbird, a species mentioned in the video that is native to Cuba, is not actually in the video. The footage for this video was primarily taken at the Tandayapa Bird Lodge in Ecuador. Some clips were also taken at Guango Lodge (Ecuador) and in Boquete, Panama.
