There is an intense investigation underway by the police in St. Ann following a case of suspected arson and murder.
If the account of a daughter who lives next door proves accurate, robbery might have been a motive for the attack on the senior entrepreneur.
However, investigators are leaving no room for doubt.

Bridgeport Lift St. Catherine Cricket Final
Bridgeport are continuing to bask in its success after recently defeating Old Harbour to lift the St Catherine Association's Jamaica Energy Partners 40-Over Cricket Competition. Batting first, Bridgeport compiled 207 all out off 36.4 overs. Oshane Baugh top-scored with 56. Baugh was supported by Justin Beckford and Rushane Gordon, both of whom scored 35. Jamaica Scorpions spinner Peat Salmon picked up 6 for 80, and Rohan Francis 2 for 39. In reply, Old Harbour were bowled out for 135 after being 68 for 3 at one stage. Kern Duckett returned career-best figures of 7 for 64. Roy Williams supported with 2 for 28. Romone Francis, 46, and Damion Wolliston, 44, were the leading scorers for Old Harbour. Kern Duckett was the competition's leading wicket-taker with 24 scalps, while Rushane Gordon scored the most runs with 415.
Students Calling on M.O.E. For Action On School Violence
May is Child Month, and after weeks of violence among school children, the President of the Jamaica Prefects' Association is demanding action to stem the vicious fights and incidents in schools. Mayor Plans to Resuscitate C. Spring Arcade, Nelson Mandela Park
Mayor of Kingston, Andrew Swaby, has committed to returning the Constant Spring Arcade and the Nelson Mandela Park vending zones to cleaner days. The Mayor revealed plans for the facilities while addressing the vendors' first town hall on Wednesday at the Stephanie Hall Auditorium in Kingston.
West Indies 'A' Defeat Nepal in 4th T20
In another good all-round performance, West Indies defeated Nepal by twenty-eight runs to take an unassailable three-one lead in their five-match T20 series. Andre Fletcher led the way with a blistering eighty-four not out from fifty-four balls, spiced with nine fours and four sixes. He shared in a second-wicket stand of ninety-two with Johnson Charles, who made fifty-eight off thirty balls. Fabian Allen chipped in with thirty-three not out from nineteen balls, sharing in an unbroken third-wicket stand of eighty-three as the West Indies passed the two-hundred mark for the second straight game, posting two hundred and nine for three.
In reply, the hosts were bowled out for one hundred and eighty-one. Skipper Rohit Paudel top-scored with eighty-two off forty-seven deliveries. Matthew Forde and Hayden Walsh Jr starred with the ball, claiming three wickets each, while Fabian Allen and Gudakesh Motie each claimed two. The fifth and final T20 is scheduled for Saturday in Kirtipur.
