The roots of R&B go far beyond what is being showcased in today's popular music culture, with so much focus on sexy and what can sell to the masses. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with the sounds that play on the sensual sexy side we all have within us. But true Rhythm & Blues stem from generations of pain, a people who's culture grew from suffering and conquering those great obstacles to come out and transmute that emotion into beautiful fiery art.
It has been a very long time since I heard an artist's music and could immediately feel everything he has been through in his voice. In his lyrics, and in the way he made me feel through the music. We are just now learning Tedy's story, but there is no question that this young talent has so much to say and is going to continue showing in a magnificent way.
