[Solved] Turn off RST while installing Ubuntu on laptop/Desktop || Latest 2022 ||
This video will help you to solve the problem "Turn off RST " while trying to install ubuntu in intel RST enabled laptop/desktop. hello you want to disable RST to install ubuntu, in intel (R) rapid storage technology and storage is disabled and the enable button is grey so you cant press it below is solution.
People suggest below.
Boot in bios then set supervisor password then save→exit
After restart, again boot in bios and check that option but this is also not working for me.

Other one suggest but its long method.
Open a Command Prompt window as admin.
Set the boot loader to go to safe boot:
bcdedit /set {current} safeboot minimal
Restart and get into the BIOS, switch the SATA operation mode from RST to AHCI (press ctrl+s in the main BIOS tab in order the option to appear), save changes and Windows goes into Safe Mode.
Open the prompt again and remove the BCD value:
bcdedit /deletevalue {current} safeboot
Reboot and that's it.

Try to restart the Ubuntu installation now RST TURN off message gone and able to install Ubuntu in Acer laptop travelmate laptop.

Intel RST Linux installation failed
The Intel® RST software is the major component of the Intel® Rapid Storage
Technology Suite. The software includes the Intel® RST AHCI and RAID 64-bit drivers
for supported Windows* operating systems. The driver supports several Intel® Serial
ATA AHCI/RAID controllers and will recognize each unique device ID and sub-class
code. Because of this, the driver must be installed before the Windows* operating
system is installed onto a RAID volume or a single SATA hard drive connected to the
RAID controller. The OS runtime driver, in conjunction with the Intel® Rapid Storage
Technology option ROM or the RST pre-OS UEFI driver, will provide boot capability for
all supported RAID levels. The driver, in conjunction with the Intel® RST UI, provides
RAID volume management (create, delete, migrate, etc.) within the Windows*
operating system. It also displays SATA* device and RAID volume information.
Included with the software package is the RAID monitor service that monitors and
reports various events of the storage subsystem. Other advanced features supported
include System Acceleration with Intel® Optane™ technology.
If you require switching the PCH SATA controller mode to AHCI for some reason, then before switching, disable Intel® Optane™
had a really odd experience attempting this on Windows 10, but I finally figured it out:
When I switched to AHCI and got to the safeboot menu, my keyboard wouldn't work. If I tried to get to the keyboard settings nothing happened. I was able to get to the Command Prompt terminal via the 'Windows Systems' tab in the Start Menu. Once I had opened the Command Prompt, I could type in it using the on-screen keboard (Start Menu - Settings -Ease of Access - Keyboard (scroll down and it's on the left) -On-Screen Keyboard). Then I typed bcdedit /deletevalue safeboot (there didn't seem to be a way to use curly brackets). Then I Rebooted, and found that I had left Safe Mode, and everything was back to normal :)
