After 8 years, IMD forecasts Above Normal Rainfall for 2024
On April 15, 2024, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast “above normal” rains in the country for the upcoming southwest monsoon period from June to September.
This forecast comes after a gap of 8 years. The last time when the IMD said the rains are going to be above normal was in its April forecast was in 2016.
