Joshua Buana, born in 1973 and a graduate of Petra University, began his career in graphic design before shifting to photography in 2014. His work primarily captures human interest and the harmony between humanity, architecture, and culture. The interview explores various aspects of his photography journey, from overcoming the fear of street photography to benefiting from photowalks, the importance of social media for exposure, and his preferred camera gear.

Joshua emphasizes the emotional and social benefits of street photography, how it helps overcome social anxiety, and allows photographers to gain a new perspective on life. He also highlights the importance of learning from others through photowalks and sharing his work via social media.

His preferred style of photography blends both color and monochrome, depending on the subject matter, with a particular fondness for the colors of India, Myanmar, and Nepal. Joshua admires photographers like Steve McCurry and Joel Meyerowitz and uses the Leica system for its simplicity and quality.
