In this lesson, we describe the aircraft six degree of freedom equations of motion. This includes their reference frames and coordinate systems, oblate earth and flat-earth approximation, the 6-DOF vector and scalar forms, variable nomenclature, the basic structure of the simulation, and coding a main driver, the 6-DOF equations, and a numerical integrator in Python. This is the second lesson on a video series on how to create your own flight simulation.

Errata
9/22/2024 - The rotational equations (at approx 11:00) in vector form should not have an omega X v term in them. It should be omega X J*omega. This error does propagate throughout the video but is not present when the rotational equations are broken out individually.
