Behringer XR18 & Midas MR18 Monitor Tap Points Explained. When setting up stage monitor feeds, for IEMs or wedges, tap points are used to make sure you are sending the exact parts of the signal chain you want going to a monitor mix or other feed. With digital audio consoles, it's not just post fader and pre fader options, but other options within those main options. Knowing and understanding the signal chain and what and where the pick points are tapping the mixer channel signal chain can aid in decision making and better monitor mixes. This is especially important when monitors are from a Front of House console where there is also the house mix to consider.
