Seeing FLOATERS in your vision? It could be this…
If you are seeing floaters in your vision, keep watching! There are many different causes and some of them require immediate attention and treatment to prevent permanent vision loss! Retinal breaks and retinal detachments can cause flashes, floaters, blurry vision, and other symptoms and require treatment within 24-72 hours.
Other causes of floaters could be more simple--typically age-related causes due to changes in the vitreous gel that fills the majority of the space in the eye.
Seeing spots in your vision could also be related to neurological causes, whether it is due to migraine with visual aura or something rare and complex called visual snow syndrome.
Floaters or haziness in vision could also be due to some pretty serious inflammation that needs prompt treatment or even blood inside the gel of the eye, called a vitreous hemorrhage.
If you've had floaters in your vision for a while and an eye exam to rule out the bad stuff, it's probably nothing to worry about... But if the floaters appeared suddenly, especially with other changes in vision, pause this video and call your eye doctor now!
