The tremors were felt far and wide, even reaching places like Dallas. The ground shifting under their feet left many people startled and uneasy. In both nearby towns and distant cities like Dallas, people felt the earth move, saw buildings sway, and heard objects clattering to the floor.
Before today's big quake, there were smaller tremors leading up to it, adding to the tension. Earlier in the week, a 4.9 magnitude quake hit, followed by a 2.5 magnitude one the day before. These smaller shakes seemed to be leading up to the larger event on Friday morning.
