Berlin has risen from the ashes of its troubled past and grown into one of the most liberal and safe cities in the world.

Looking at Berlin today, it's hard to imagine that the city was divided by barricades for nearly three decades during the Cold War.

In this Vlog, I visit the must-see destination on any travellers itinerary over one weekend. This vibrant metropolis combines glamour and style with a laidback lifestyle and is sure to thrill anyone looking to discover what the city has to offer.

This includes:

Holocaust Memorial
This site honours the death of Jews during the Holocaust and is incredibly moving. The memorial offers a free-entry visitor centre for tourists interested in learning more about the horrors of Hitler’s reign. It is an emotional, unforgettable experience that is a total must see.

The Berlin Wall
Located in Bernauer Straße, this exhibition gives an insight into the division of Berlin and the cold war. The East Side Gallery is now covered in beautiful graffiti murals. This is a truly humbling experience which is incredible to see.

Vibrant Nightlife
Berlin is renowned for its alternative nightlife and has been consistently named the best clubbing city in Europe. Berghain is the most famous and exclusive club in Berlin however its extremely strict, so you’ll be lucky if your allowed entry! Although the city has a reputation for having a crazy, ‘anything goes’ attitude within the club scene, visitors can also enjoy more chilled out, cosmopolitan bars and entertainment venues. From its authentic German pubs to its underground warehouse raves, Berlin’s nightlife really has something for everyone.

Dynamic Art
Teufelsberg in Grunewald was an American listening station in the Cold War and is now decorated with powerful, vibrant and beautiful art which is celebrated and loved throughout the city. Berlin is known to take pride in freedom and self-expression and the art culture in Berlin epitomises this statement.

City Parks, Museums & Green Areas
Take a break from the bustling city and head to one of Berlins many city parks or green areas. Enjoy a peaceful escape and explore the beautiful nature. From the large Tiergarten, to the Tempelhofer Feld, which was once an airport, it has so much to offer from cycling to open spaces perfect for a picnic! Have a picnic, enjoy the nature and rewind!
