If you have torsional play or a seized rear hinge, you should replace the rear hinge.
Please note, this is one of the most complex jobs you can carry out on a Brompton and requires specific tooling. Also, this is the main link that holds the frame together. If in any doubt, always seek the support of your local bike shop, who will be able to take on the work on your behalf.
