Long protocol of IVF stimulation is started on day 21 of the previous cycle. IVF is an assisted reproductive technique which brings about miracles of conception. The long protocol stops body from producing eggs for a short time. When the ovaries are encouraged to produce eggs again with hormone injections, the follicles (sacs containing your eggs) grow at the same time and speed as each other.
