David Erickson: This is from a HubSpot article by Lindsay Kolowich and the article is called Lead Scoring 101. So it's a really good article simply if you want to learn about lead scoring; it is a too-long-didn't-read kind of thing. It is really long.

David Erickson: But the reason I put in is not because of the excellent content per se. It's about a tactic that HubSpot is using--a user experience tactic that they're using--that this is a great example on this article. Because it's a long article they have--so they have as you scroll down through the article there's the top navigation bar, it persists as you scroll. The navigation bar doesn't disappear as you scroll down the page, it stays with you.

David Erickson: And along with that at the bottom edge of the navigation bar is an orange line that continues to stretch horizontally across the page as you scroll further down the page. So that's an indication of your progress through the article. When you get to the bottom of the page, the orange line has reached all the way across--
BL Ochman: Oh, I like that.
David Erickson: --horizontally across the page. So it's just a really clever user experience tactic to tell people where they are in the article and how soon they're going to be finished with it.
