How to Remove Lyrics from Your Favorite Songs

If you're a better singer than the artist on the track, you can remove the lyrics and sing the song yourself.
Step 1: Download and install Audacity
Download Audacity, a free audio editing program from audacity.sourceforge.net. Install the software on your computer and open the program.
Step 2: Choose song
Choose which song from which you would like to remove the lyrics by clicking on File and then Open. Loading may take up to a minute, so be patient.
Tip
Audacity only works with the mp3 format in two-channel stereo.
Step 3: Split the track
Split the track into right and left channels by clicking on the drop-down menu next to the song title in the song window and selecting Split Stereo Track.
Step 4: Select the right channel
Select the right or bottom channel and highlight all of the audio. Click on Effect on the top toolbar and then click Invert.
Step 5: Convert to mono
Convert both channels to mono by clicking on the drop-down menu next to the song title in the song window.
Tip
Changing the audio to mono will result in a loss of quality.
Step 6: Hit play
Hit the Play button and listen to your newly converted, lyric-free track, perfect for your next karaoke party, or next time you're driving.
