The first published image was taken by the James Webb Space Telescope
It's a single distant star - a mosaic created over 25 hours beginning on Feb. 2, 2022 and NASA is very happy with the progress.
It's still early in the process of aligning the 18 segments of the James Webb Space Telescope's mirror.
