How Elephant Seals Conquered this ENTIRE Island
We explore the world of northern elephant seals on Ano Nuevo Island, located off the coast of northern California. This small island is home to thousands of elephant seals, as well as sea lions, sea birds, and great white sharks. Elephant seals are large animals that almost went extinct in the 19th century, but have since recovered thanks to conservation efforts. You can see these massive creatures on Ano Nuevo Island year-round, but the island is closed during breeding season from December to February. While you can't visit Ano Nuevo Island itself, you can see the elephant seals on the mainland part of Ana Nuevo State Park during guided tours from December 15th to March 31st.
