Tutorial for WordPress | How to add categories in WordPress Menu
In this video, I show you how to add categories in a WordPress Menu.
You probably know that you can add posts and pages to your WordPress Menus but did you know that you can create and add categories to them as well?
Before you can add categories to a menu, you need to create them if you've not done so already. To do that, go to the Posts section of your WordPress dashboard and you will see an option for Categories. Click on that and you will be able to add your new categories.
With that done, you can go to the Menus section, found under Appearance. You then create a new menu and following my example, you will see the categories you have (just) created.
With menu created, it is time to add the menu to your site. You can usually do this to a predetermined menu location. The number of menu locations depends on the theme you have installed on your site. Most themes have at least two and sometimes more. You can also add themes to widget areas - this is what I do in this video - I add my categories menu to my sidebar.
