British Columbia began its reforestation initiatives back in 1930 to combat deforestation, and that program has evolved as a tool to fight climate change and forest fires. At One Tree Planted, we are so proud to play a role in this initiative, planting over 12 million trees across British Columbia with our planting partners. Ecosystem services that benefit from reforestation include flood and erosion control, improved air quality, and carbon sequestration, all of which are critical to mitigate the effects of climate change. Our projects include trees planted for wildfire recovery, forest and climate resilience, restoration of degraded lands, watershed protection, and more.
