Mastering SCCM: A Comprehensive Guide to PowerShell Automation
This workshop is designed to transform participants into Powershell Masters by instructing them on the use of the SCCM Powershell Module. Participants will learn how to manage site settings for their primary site, configure discovery methods for devices and users, and create device collections.
The course will then pivot to cover the push method for installing the SCCM client, managing client settings and customizing them, as well as managing client notifications.
The workshop will then dive into prerequisites for installing packages and applications, customizing the DP for deployment, and managing software updates in interaction with WSUS. Participants will also learn about automatic deployment rules and managing compliance features, including creating baselines.
The significant portion of the workshop will cover Operating System Deployment (OSD), including WDS/PXE interaction, modifying WINPE boot files, importing drivers and operating systems, and creating Task Sequences for OS deployment.
Participants will learn about the different roles they can add, managing their settings, and modifying those roles. The workshop will also cover Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), adding new security roles, scopes, and admin users, and the Endpoint protection role with policy creation for Anti Malware detection.
The course will then cover monitoring aspects and creating alerts. The final module will explore automation, including a simple example of script creation for pushing Apps or Packages and a visit to the Powershell Gallery to explore community-created scripts.
